Hi everybody,
I would like to share one of my typical days with you.
The alarm wakes me up at 6:30 am. I like to sleep, so it’s
always the clock that gets me up. I grab a quick breakfast and head to the gym to
meet Kai (my fitness coach for 8 years) at 7:30. My work outs consist mostly of
weights, I focus on one/two muscles groups each time. To round out the gym
session, I finish with some high intensity cardio intervals.
I am back at my house around 9:00 am and will shower up and get
ready for the day. I usually visit the office to answer and return some
e-mails or calls.
Most of my days have a scheduled interview, sponsor outing, or a visit to my Academy. I try to schedule these in the mornings so that
I will have the afternoon to myself to practice . My caddie, Terry joins me for
many of these sessions. He likes to see my progress and helps me prepare for the next
tournament. It’s Team work.
Around 5:00 pm I head back to the house. By then, it is time to answer some
e-mails and check in with the ANNIKA Team. I am lucky to have a very good staff
that is independent and hard working.
Mike and I get together around 6:30 each evening. We hang out in the kitchen and he shares with me the business activities of the day as I prepare dinner. I love to cook, so
this is a fun time for me. I relax and I cherish our time at home.
The day flies and after a little TV and internet it’s time
to go to bed. After a long days of work, I can’t wait to put my head on the
pillow. As I said – I love to sleep so I can charge my batteries for another
great day.
Annika,
It's always neat to hear what a "typical" day is like for a person. Makes you feel like when you think of that person, that you can pretty much say, well it's about 9, so "X" is probaly doing . . . and ya smile.
One thing I notice tho is that your "typical" day is a BALANCE of Home, Work & Play just like the foundational template here on the blog site IS what "comprises" ANNIKA, right? You always say how you're in to balance! YUP! Me too :)
Anwho, looking forward to seeing the Tavistock Cup broadcast this coming Monday & Tuesday.
Still remember the 1st time you played in the event (2005 if memory serves) and the excitemnent in my heart, saying, "well it's about time!!". Was right there with the rest of TV-land cheering you on!!
Glad the LPGA is fixin' to hit more of a sprint with an increased number of tournaments . . . I'm having Annika withdraws!!

Annika,
Thanks for sharing your typical day. I just wanted to let you know that my mom and I will be in your gallery in Arizona. The weather in Arizona will be a welcome change to Ohio weather. Looking forward to seeing another beautiful golf course while cheering you on. Good luck in the Tavistock Cup and see you soon.

Hi Annika,
Your typical day is much busier than mine. I creep, play and pounce around the house a little bit during the night with Smoochie, Tip & Kiki. Breakfast is about 8:00 AM. I cleanup for about 10 minutes, take a bathroom break, then it's time to nap anywhere I want. Prefer the sun. Wake up from multiple naps and eat a little dry food throughout the day. Dinner around 6:00 PM. Cleanup, play with two legged family members and a laser beam, have some salmon treats, get brushed with a Furminator and practice my purring.
The family will leave on my High Def TV during the next few weeks. So I will watch you play some good golf and celebrate that I was named for a true Champion in more ways than one! Good Luck! Be Safe!

Are you going to play in the LPGA event in Northwest Arkansas in July?

Hi Annika from Rancho Cucamonga, Calif. (yes, there is a Cucamonga) My wife, Peggy & I are huge fans of everything you stand for, not just as a golfer. We've traveled short, and far to watch you play....short would be Palm Springs, and long would be the "Old-Course" last year. Best of luck in all your tournaments (especially the Majors). Glad you've got someone special in your life ! Al, and Peggy

Annika,
I know you work extremely hard, so what do you and Mike do for fun/recreation? I imagine you are quite an outdoors person who enjoys other sports but I'm sure "time" is an issue.
Good luck at the Safeway-

Hej Annika
Great play in The Tavistock. Especially on a very hard, long golf course with those very fast greens. You made some great shots when you needed to, and I'm sure it was great mentaly to hold off Paula. It's going to be a great season on the LPGA!!
How long is your putter?
Thanks again, Loom

Hi Annika,
Your typical day sounds packed full yet shows your dedication to your professional life as well as your personal life. Good luck this week in AZ; all your hard work with your trainer/coach will pay off. Looking forward to catching all the coverage. Go low, girl!

Do you try different type putters at Annika Academy?
Good luck at Safeway!!!!!

Hi Annika!
I am so happy that you are back on tour. You make LPGA exciting for me. I live in West Palm Beach, so each year when you come to Trumps course for the ADT Championship I follow you through 18 holes and I'm right up front to see each and every shot. I love watching you play; your a magnificent player! Good Luck & Good Health to you. Looking forward to watching you take back #1.

Hi Annika,
I am thrilled that you are back on tour. It is so exciting and inspiring to watch you.
I am also thrilled that I will get another chance to see you in person here in Rochester, NY for the Wegmans LPGA! It's a great tournament and I can't wait to see you here again.

Hi Annika,
Great to see you back on tour again! You have a 3 shot lead going into the final round this week and Ochoa is 8 shots back. I love it. I want to see you #1 again and to surpass Kathy Whitworth on the all time win list. I know you are going to do it!! You are a winner and it comes natural to you now.
With a victory tomorrow you will be at 70 (if the LPGA website .pdf file has the up to date totals), twice the victories of the next closest active player (Kari Webb). You will only have 19 more to go to be the all time leader, and I don't think anyone will ever beat the number you finally end up with. It is a joy to watch you play. I also enjoy being able to understand what you say in your interviews. With Lorena I get about every fifth word if I'm lucky.
Keep the victories coming!!!

Annika:
You have been such a true professional and have made women's golf great to view. I have worked at the McDonald's LPGA at DuPont for years and always enjoyed meeting the pros. You will be sooooo missed on tour. I just love watching you, you play with such enthusiasm and determination. I was looking forward to seeing some great golf between you and Lorena now that you're back healthy again. I believe if you had not had your injury, you still would have been number 1. There will never be another Annika. Good luck in your future, but I'll miss watching you make those great shots.

Dear Annika,
Thank you so much for the time you were able to spend with my little sister, Jane in April. It ment the world to her especially after the heartbreak of losing her home to the So. California fires. She had a special personal collection of only you that was lost in the fire. She was so happy to replace parts of it.
Always, Jeannie

Dear Annika, I watched you walk up the 16th fairway at the ADT on you final day of play and felt a very deep regret because we are losing one of the sports greatest ladies. Though I am sorry to see you leave It's great that you have found fulfillment in your life. I have followed your career almost from the beginng so not seeing walk a fairway or win a tournament becomes just a little more difficult. I do wish you the best in all your endeavors and hope that maybe someday we will see you out there 1 more time. Always, Elaine
