ANNIKA Cup

The second annual ANNIKA Cup went very well today. The Blue Team outlasted the Red Team on a cool day at Vasteras Golf Club. The girls seemed to have a blast and played some incredible golf. Each participant received baseball gloves from Rawlings, ANNIKA shirts from Cutter & Buck, golf bags from Callaway Golf, hats from Gogie Girl, and trophies from Kosta Boda. Thanks to all the sponsors, along with the two coaches, Katarina and Maria (my best friend from our teenage years). I hope you enjoy some of the photos. Tomorrow, they will be with me again for some more fun.

After the golf, over 150 members from the club got together for some “Speed Golf” in an effort to try and break the Guinness World Record for the fastest round of golf, which is eight minutes and 47 seconds. I hit the first shot, someone else hit it to the green, and then someone else putted until the ball was holed out. This process was repeated on each hole by different groups. The only rule is that you must wait until the ball comes to rest before hitting it again. Once a hole completed, the official yells and someone tees off on the next hole. Henri hit the shot on the par-three 9th hole and Mike made the putt for par. The ANNIKA Cup participants also covered the 18th hole nicely. We finished in around 12 minutes as the rain started to fall. We didn’t set any records this time, but it sure was fun!

Hi Annika,

Really enjoyed this post. And I hope Mike realizes that there is a good chance that all your kids will have blonde hair. I think he will do OK with that.

When we have enough alumni from the ANNIKA Academy - can we all try that "Speed Golf" at Reunion? This is one way to you will be able to continue satisfying that competitive spirit of yours!

If you're talking about playing fast, then I'M YOUR GIRL!!

LOL when Annika said that the only rule for speed golf is that you had to let the ball come to a stop!! I can just see those young whipper snappers hoofin' it down the fairway almost beating the ball to the landing area with a club ready to swot it again!!!

And what's more, scurrying like little jack rabbits trying to make the ball "hurry up and stop" after a missed putt on a green!!

I love these pictures of the juniors!! Oh what fun they had!! And they looks sharp and "know it!!" Looking forward to Annika's post on todays' practice round and the juniors evaluation of the day.

Summer school? I don't know how the year schedules of school in Sweden, but it looks like the credit is much deserved. Learning of enthusiasm influences the foundations of it's aspiration. Something the looking forward to must pale of achievement. All the good that such accomplishment be wrought.
