Good evening everyone. This is Mike and I writing because I feel like boasting about our girl again! Day two was incredibly exciting as the matches stayed all square, making it 6-6 heading into tomorrow's singles. Annika and Suzann won a thriller....more on that in a moment, Cristie Kerr and Helen Alfredsson won their match, and Katherine Hull and Nikki Campbell won for the second day in a row....to the "Aussie, Aussie, Aussie cheers led by Christina Kim. It was really a fun day!
Now, to the match nearest and dearest to my heart. Annika and Suzann vs. Inbee Park and Eun Hee Ji. Suzann was AWESOME. She made eight birdies, including six (would have been seven) on the back nine alone!! She made four in a row to start the turn, and two of them were for halves. Ji had six birdies of her own and I believe there were 18 total birdies plus an eagle in the match. "We" were down most of the day until Suzann birdied 15 to pull back to all-square. However, Inbee came right back with a nice birdie on 16 to go one up with two to play. Everyone hit the green on the par three 17th, while Annika and the Asians missed their putts, setting the stage for Suzann's 15 footer to square the match once again. I must admit that I thought that one was too much to ask for, but she nailed another one!!!
That set the stage for another memorable feat by......you guessed it!! The 18th is a reachable par five and Annika hit it just past pin high to the right of the green in two. Suzann was on the green and the Asians looked as though they would make birdie. Annika had a funny lie from roughly 50 feet away. That's when she was.....well.....Annika! With a flair for the dramatic like only a few others in history, she chipped in at the most improbable time for eagle and a win for the International Team. The place went crazy!!! Annika and Suzann shared a huge hug in a moment I'll never forget. They thrilled the crowds together once again. I can't wait to see the action tomorrow....we'll keep you posted!
That's our girl. Way to go out with flare. I was tracking and knew they would come back. Keep it up and good luck tomorrow. Once again I so wish I could see it on TV.

Hi Mike,
Thanks for this terrific update. I can visualize that purrfect shot and all the excitement that went along with it. Team International is in a real catfight. Make sure they all have their Little Friskies for breakfast.
Paws are crossed for an International Victory!!
Go Annika!!!

Mike,
We love hearing from you and AtC's right in that you paint excellent visual pictures.
The bear hung between Suzann and Annika and the knuckle tap in the pics you've shared says alot about how much they love playing together.
Team events really matter because how often the appreciation and confidence is elevated.
I can imagine how much our ladies will be pulling for one another in Saturday's play.
They have indeed done all they can to bring the cup back . . . . hmmmm . . . Ryder Cup revisited perhaps?!!
PS I'm greedy, did you get to take some more pics and/or video??

Thanx for taking the time to keep us informed, and please tell your (our) great lady "Good Luck" on the final day.
Better make that "Good Luck" to the entire team.

Thanks for the vivid play-by-play, Mike. It was just the fix I needed out here where we can't see it all happening.
Best of luck to Annika, Paula, and the team for a great finish!
