Good evening everyone. The first annual ANNIKA Invitational is complete and Simin Feng is the champion as she outlasted a stellar field at Ginn Reunion Resort. The ANNIKA Foundation hosted the event in conjunction with the AJGA, and it was a spectacular week! Many thanks to Annika, the staff of the AJGA, the volunteers, and Selena Nobilo for your hard work! We would like to also extend a huge THANK YOU to Rolex, Callaway Golf, The LPGA Foundation, Stanford Financial, and our other sponsors.
Instead of me gushing about how gracious Annika was with her time....which she was, I'll let you click on the following links to see what others wrote. We'll have some more photos posted tomorrow. Good night!
Mike,
Thnx for your post. I've saved the AJGA link so that I can visit often. Nice touch to include some of the others that covered this outstanding event.
All of you associated with the ANNIKA legacy are unleashing a "change in attitude and approach" using golf and in a few hours we'll get to experience more steps of AMERICAN HISTORY never before seen.
The smorgousborg of AMERICANS and OUR guests from around the world gathered TOGETHER in Washington DC continues to draw tears from this kid.
I love the interviews and stories from the young people, from those wanting to move forward, from the older Americans who NEVER thought they'd live long enough to see the day.
All of them articulating the understanding that they are LIVING history and they're thankful, humble and proud to be there. WOW!!!
It's really cool seeing how many have their cell phone cameras clicking and are just snapping pics of one another and anybody else in range. Think how many have exchanged email addresses and will keep in contact.
Who knows how many future contacts that will lead to DESTINY fulfilled in these individuals and nations.
Those with American status and those who perhaps will join us--all of them together.
I L O V E IT!!!!!
America!! What an opportunity for Greatness--Restored!!
I cheer mightily for this generation--and still even for mine.

Someday the word "ANNIKALIKE" will be in the dictionary. Its meaning, simply put: Approaching greatness as a role model to the youth of the World: an ability to show how to "give back": how to perform to perfection in ones' chosen sport; the ease in which a sports star can live life to the fullest without making ridiculous financial demands; how to treat the fans that support her: how to attain a status that will never be equalled....a status that may be approached, but never equalled.”

Buzz,
I think the word ANNIKA-LIKE is already in the mainstream thesarus/dictionary.
Whenever we hear someone speak of "vintage Annika" we already have many adjectives to describe what just happened on the course.
I guess maybe now with the expansion of her having full time to teach as much as she has DEMONSTRATED will surely help to paint even a MORE vivid picture of sound thinking and living in action.

Yes Mike Buzz is a true scholar and poet. The words incapsulated what we've been trying to say for over a year now. Wow!!
Seriously tho, I would like to know, how do words/terms make their way to the dictionary??
Buzz is on to something here!!!

The entire week was fantastic! What a great experience for the girls (and the AJGA staff). I am sure the girls will never forget it - I think it will impact them for years to come. Thank you Annika, Mike, Selena and the rest of your team for making this event truly special. I am already looking forward to next year!
