A girl. Yippee! I have a couple of ideas for names if McGee will be her last name. Elizabeth Ann Gunilla McGee (Lizzie McGee) or Emma Sofia McGee (Sofia McGee). Mike McGee sounds like an Irish name. If that is the case your daughter will be an Irish Swede just like me. I have a Swedish father and an Irish mother. I have never met anyone in my entire life who had Irish and Swedish parents. I think you'll have a very interesting daughter! Good luck!!! :)

That's excellent news. I wonder why so many of us KNEW you were having a girl. Hmm??? I was among the 68%, so at least I was in the majority. I think I'll let you and Mike decide on her name. :)

Congratulations Annika and Mike!!
I could not think of a lovelier name than "Akinna Sorenstam McGee" for your little princess. (Akinna is Annika spelled backwards...of course!)
:-D
A lifetime of happiness for you and your growing family.

Been watching for the email blast from Academy 4 and the news is awesome behond measure!! So proud of you two.
Thing is tho, you thought we were "spoiling" Mike thus far, you have never seen true spoiling like he will be getting from little miss!!
But on the other hand, I guess Mike now has two "Sweeties" to spoil !!
Hmmmm . . . I wonder what names you've been thinking about...

This wonderful news of the impending birth of a daughter couldn't have come at a better time.
Mom and I just walked into the house after having a farewell dinner with our youngest daughter who is going to her new home in Colorado tomorrow morning. That makes five daughters living in five different states, and a son in a sixth.
I was pretty much down in the dumps a few minutes ago, but the news of a daughter on the way to the McGee household has given me the lift I needed. You and Mike have no idea how happy I am for you....because I've been there. And as happy as you and Mike are now, it is just a prelude to the total happiness you can expect when little Miss McGee makes her grand entrance.
I'd better not "blab" so much, but thanx for the therapy.
Take Care

Hej Annika

Congratulations, Annika and Mike! A little girl will brighten your life. Here's a little suggestion; I came up with the idea when my son was little: save those first tiny pairs of "shoes" your little one gets and hang them on your Christmas tree year after year. I am still doing it...27 years later!
All the best!

Grattis

Hi Annika,
Congratulations to you and Mike on your exciting news about your daughter! I have 2 boys and a daughter named Catherine. I have 3 sisters so know what it's like to have sisters and a daughter of my own. How lucky are YOU!!
Posted by: Mary E. | May 16, 2009 at 08:53 PM
Hi Annika,
By the way, Catherine is a great name and sounds great with McGee! You could call her CAT for short (which we do with our Catherine). Would fit right in with your kitty cats!! Just a suggestion!
