Good evening everyone. This is Mike writing and Annika and I would like to thank all of you so much for your kind words about our little girl. We are really excited about her and the fun that lies ahead. I think it's almost fitting with everything Annika has done for women's sports and the inspiration she has given millions of little girls!
As some of you may know, my disasters in the kitchen have been fairly well documented. Last night I thought I would help "Mama" by making some Chicken Noodle soup with some chicken we had leftover. Well, long story short, despite my efforts to follow the directions, the celery remained mysteriously crisp. Needless to say it wasn't the best. Later that night when we went to bed, Annika said that she thought she felt a kick. Sure enough, we held her stomach and it was the first noticeable movement our little one has shown us. It was a VERY cool moment.
Once we shut out the lights we had a big laugh that she was kicking Annika's stomach with a purpose....to keep me out of the kitchen! Coincidence.....probably not. :)
Have a great night and Go Cavs....I mean Magic......hmmmm.
Well at least it was the celery left uncooked and not the chicken! It must have been a very special moment to share together; with many more to come! Thanks for sharing it with all of us! Think I'll have a glass of Annika Syrah to celebrate, then another once the Cavs win tonight!

Now Papa –
If I remember right, the Sorenstam sisters do not like celery and it probably makes it worse if it’s crunchy. It sounds as if it runs in the family if your daughter is kicking in her two cents too.
I have no doubts that your culinary skills can improve with the right training. Similar to my improved golf swing thanks to The ANNIKA Academy.
And I join Annika in sending positive thoughts of restored health to Amy Michelson.

Well, think of it this way...your daughter is already developing a keen culinary palate :-)
Maybe she liked her daddy's cooking so much she was kicking to show her excitement. Hey, I'm from Baltimore...hope springs eternal here ;-)

Michael.....you don't make chicken soup in the pizza oven.....
and there will be many more kicks, and laughs, coming your way.
It sounds like you are having great fun...........and I'm happy for you both.
Take care

I have been watching Annika's career since I began golfing 15 years ago. I have tried to emulate Annika in not just the game but in her composure. Well now the tables are turned. It's her turn to do as I. Being a mom is great! I wish you all wonderful moments! Enjoy all changes of you body. EAT like a Queen! Sleep like cat and most of keep yoour husband in the loop. Because after the baby is born you lives will change forever. Don't worry you'll love it!

Mike,
Cute story...thanks for sharing that with us!
As for the celery, you sound like me in the kitchen! I once forgot to put the tomato juice in the spaghetti, it was a bit dry...lol anyways maybe we should both take culinary lessons!
And dont you just hate it when both of your teams end up playing each other??? What a bummer! Rooting for the CAVS this time! Only bc the magic made me mad when they beat the Celtics ;)
Have a great weekend!!!

Hi Annika and Mike,
You will have to save that story to tell your daughter when she can get a good laugh out of it! Yes, I agree - Annika, eat whatever your heart/stomach/baby desires just because you can! Mike, it was the thought that counts!
Can't wait to see the CAVS take game 3!!

Annika and Mike, what a joyful, wonderful moment in time! Would love to see some current pics. Has Cutter & Buck engaged in a "maternity" design for the active Mom? When will the Annika Syrah wine hit the midwest area? Would love to get a bottle/or 2. Hope you had a wonderful holiday. Thanks for sharing your culinary cuisine experiences as well. Embrace your wonderful life experiences!
Thanks for sharing. It is too bad that the LPGA lost Corning as well as several other tournaments. Sure glad I have some Annika tapes to watch. They are the best. It is so wonderful and a delight to share your journey. Thank you so much. prandall
