Founder Tony Hawk & Annika launched a discussion on whether athletes have an obligation to give back, or not.

Growing up in a small town in Sweden I played all kinds of sports. I loved the competition, camaraderie, and travel that came with playing those sports. As I grew older and more focused on golf, I met so many people around the world and learned many life lessons. I was very fortunate to have great parents, coaches, and mentors. However, it always seemed to be my heroes in sports who inspired me. It wasn’t just because they were winning tournaments, breaking records or making lots of money. It was because I felt emotionally tied to them and their actions outside of the arena. They were cool, they were humble, they influenced others, and they gave back. These athletes helped in the community, which showed us that a difference can be made with a strong will, had work, and a big heart. They inspired me to one day follow their footsteps.

Unfortunately, in this day and age not all athletes are inspired to give back.
Fortunately, in this day and age we have athletes like you who set the example and, by doing so, encourage other athletes to give back.
Many do not need encouragement, of course. But for those that do, your story is out there for them to read......and all commissioners should make your story mandatory reading.
Take care....and have a nice Thanksgiving...

I gather that Suzann Petterson has a pretty good support group among today's golfers. At last weekend's rainy LPGA Tour Championship, I saw her parents and what I gather were a few cousins who had flown in from Norway just to see Suzann play the tournament. I have a hunch without knowing too much that Suzann's parents are a big part of her success.

This was a fantastic article and the question posed is one that we all have encountered.
Where YOUR passion is---your heart is--and all your stuff (small or great) follows that!!
It's just fun being kind to people!! Likes attract likes right?
