As one of my Foundation initiatives , I host two promising Swedish juniors to the US every year. I had a lot of fun with Johanna Tillstrom and Robin Pettersson last week, the recipients of the 2010 Annika Sorenstam Golf Scholarship! I spent time with them at my Academy , sharing my passion for golf and fitness and also my knowledge about the game and what is takes to reach your full potential. I shared stories about my life as a professional golfer, my training routine, goal setting and the commitment and focus it takes to reach the top. Johanna and Robin also worked with my fitness coach, Kai Fusser.
When Johanna and Robin weren’t busy practicing and playing golf, they visited two colleges near the Orlando-area: the University of Florida and the University of Central Florida. They also attended the Arnold Palmer Invitational, a PGA Tour event at the Bay Hill Club and Lodge in Orlando. This gave them the opportunity to see firsthand what life on tour can be like.
They documented their trip in a journal (written in Swedish), take a look at it here.
Johanna and Robin, I hope you had fun and learned a lot. I wish you both the best of luck with your future!
